One Bristol resident wants to know if she'll see the "mystery tree" this holiday season.

An annual mysterious Christmas Tree appearance in Bristol Harbor has left one Bristol resident wondering who has been spreading the anonymous Christmas cheer, and whether or not it will be seen again in the coming weeks.

Right around Christmas time for the last five years, Bristol resident Nancy Richard has enjoyed waking up in her Windmill Point Condominium on Bristol Harbor surprised to see a small Christmas tree floating in the water.

"I would wake up in the morning and look out my window to see the cutest little Christmas tree floating in the harbor," she said. "I've never seen anyone put it out. Every year it would just mysteriously be there."

Richard says she has asked neighbors and friends, but no one seems to know who strapped the small tree to a board and sent it out into the harbor. Richard says the tree is about two feet tall and is always fully decorated with garland and ornaments.

"Someone leaves it there, floating around as a symbol of Christmas and Christmas cheer," she said. "It is just so nice to see." Richard says she would like to know who puts out the floating Christmas tree, but understands that the anonymous person may want to reamain unknown. Regardless, Richard says she hopes he or she will continue the tradition this year. "Last year there was no tree but that may have been because of the horrible weather," she said. "This year I'm hoping I will look out my window and see it again, floating around to bring Bristol some Christmas cheer."
